In Memory of....

The thousands of unwanted dogs and cats who are sadly cast off like garbage. In honor of the many people who DO something everyday to make the lives of those who find a home so much better. In honor of the many people who find themselves putting an end to those lives daily, I would not want to be in your shoes.

If you click on the image below, a video will be opened, a slide show of sorts that will be both touching and graphically heartbreaking. I encourage you to look at it...it is something we all must do. We go about our lives pretending that things are as they should be, when there is so much more wrong happening than is necessary. There are hundereds of other causes that could be highlighted in this same way, but today, in honor of my pets and in honor of the thousands of others who will never know the kind and gentle touch of a friend, I choose to do this in lieu of Pooper Friday.

I watched this and wept, and then I held both of my girls and let my tears run onto them and let them know how much they are loved and appreciated. Every day they give me so much joy and love.

Spaying or Neutering your pets is a responsibility that we have as stewards. This is not a privilage and carelessness in this regard should not be tolerated. Help end the cycle of death, have your pets spayed or neutered.

It breaks my heart. But it has to be seen. I hate how often people breed their animals, when so many will never know a loving home, or any home at all.

I can't. I can't watch it. I've teared up just reading your post.

Any injustice done to animals gets me right to the core. They are innocent and it is only because of our laziness and disrespect that they die.

Always something to remember.

Yeah, sorry Greenie, I can't watch either. I'll give Jack and Simon extra hugs this evening though.

That was an excellent presentation... well done. It's not too graphic, but you get the point. It should be required viewing for all. Thank you for posting it.

A deeply moving post and heartbreaking video. I was reluctant to watch it as I'm a sensitive soul - sometimes feel I care more and feel more for the plight of animals than I do for humans - but wanted to acknolwedge your post and your cause. I commend you.

I discovered you through your flickr photos.
